ShowRSS down

I’m a huge fan of Broadcatching because it allows me to catch up with the latest news and watch my favorite shows when I got time, and not when they are scheduled, and a nice side effect is that I don’t need to own a TV.

When I wanted to find out if there is something new to watch today I noticed that my favorite service, ShowRSS, is currently down, which would explain why I’m not getting my shows. I hope it’s nothing tragic and that it returns soon.

Update: and it’s back, apparently it was just a small problem, and not the so feared takedown.

We go down about each month for a few hours, just to do some database maintenance and add new features.

I don't think we're going to be taken down, at least soon. And if we ever are, you can be assured that the world will know it!

That's reassuring thanks. I really love your service. It seems that Spain really is liberal on the way they treat P2P links, isn't it?

I noticed that it some of my RSS feeds were down a few days ago too, but I'm more interested in this Broadcatching you've mentioned. Please tell me more – what program do you use, how do I set it up etc.?

Well, chances are you're already doing some sort of broadcatching. The expression is not accurate, as Wikipedia defines it differently, but broadcatching is using a combination of RSS and BitTorrent download newly released TV shows that are put online by users or even the producers of the show itself. It's like broadcasting except you retrieve the content and watch it whenever you have time, so your no longer bound to broadcasting schedules :D
