Is Buxfer sharing with Google

Christian Decker wrote this in the early evening:
Today I logged in to Buxfer to see my latest expenses and how my budgets where doing and guess what: Google Adsense somehow knew that I’m a regular Icetea drinker: (click for larger image) Now the natural question is: does Buxfer share its users information with Google AdSense? According to the privacy information it is not:

Ads appearing on buxfer.com may be delivered to users by our advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Buxfer and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

So how does Google get my information? I’m not saying that Google is bad, in fact I love their AdSense service, but it’s a bit scary isnt it?

Non US-citizens unable to signup to Google AdSense?

I just tried to sign up to Google AdSense but was unable to do so:

Does this mean that if I don’t have an american contact address I’ll be unable to sign up or what? I’m pretty fed up with Google behavior!

Google punishes Link Exchange?

Christian Decker wrote this in the late afternoon:

Over at the german Forenblogger Google seems to be actively punishing Pages that sell links:

Google is undeniably one of the most widely used Search Engines, in Germany it has a market share of 90%. The financing scheme of Google is well known: it primarily relies on Advertising.

Now it starts to be interesting: Google apparently doesn’t like it too much if you sell Links (see post by Mac Cutts: how to report paid links). The reason should be clear: paid links influence Googles Pagerank and therefore the quality of the search results. So Google started punishing Link-Sellers and -Buyers (Internetmarketing-News, David Naylor).

The question therefore is: doesn’t Google misuse it’s Marketposition? [...] It’s a legitimate way of advertising. If Google now starts downranking pages that use this kind of advertisements it’s a clear misuse, because it means that you’re only allowed to use Google Adsense as the only way of advertising that doesn’t imply getting downranked by Google.

It’s quite an extreme point of view but I have to (partly) agree, Google does have a point for trying to keep search results good, but isn’t there another way than to punish other means of advertising?
